And here is the finished hank. Isn't it just gorgeous? These are some of the prettiest colors I've spun yet. Thank you Kate P. from Paradise Fibers, WA. :) Posted by Picasa

This is Sebastian. I've had this on the bobbin far too long, so I decided this morning to finish it up and ply it. The navajo ply, I love it, the yarn looks really different with this method... Posted by Picasa

And this is the almost 2lbs. of the new zealand sliver that I spun up to knit this cardigan. I love this color, it just doesn't look gray to me, it looks brown... Posted by Picasa

Here is the front view of the 6 stitch cable running down the front two sided of the opening. That 7 stitches in between is what I will be cutting open to make this into a cardigan. Posted by Picasa

I started this simple cabled cardi yesterday at E's spin - in. Of course I had to knit some in between spinning. This is my own handspun new zealand sliver in natural sheeps gray. Does this look gray to you? Posted by Picasa

Here is Charlotte, me and E. I had to wear the vest, (they made me...) And if you look real close, you can see the left side of my face is swollen, the wisdom tooth came out yesterday, but all in all, not to bad, at least it doesn't really hurt that much :( And E has on her first handspun yarn top that she made. It is too cute, I love the blue bow in it. We had a blast, thank you Elizabeth, and family for your hospitality. Posted by Picasa

And here is the little lake in her back yard!!! Can you believe it? I felt like I was in seventh heaven sitting there knitting and spinning today... It's very peaceful and calming there...

Today we had the spin-in at E's. It was soooo much fun. Here are just a few picks of everyone there, and the fab view at E's back window of her home. Posted by Picasa

It's DONE! And blocking nicely in front of the fire. I will wear it to the spin-in tomorrow! I'll make sure I get good pics to post. Good Night! The medicine for my tooth is starting to kick in... Posted by Picasa

So today I finished the knitting of the body of the vest. I have cut it open as you can see below. Things are going a bit slower because I had my last wisdom tooth pulled this morning, and of course I have to be on some sort of pain medication. I am having a bit of a time trying to type this out. Anyway, long story short, I am in the process of putting the ribbing on the arms and then around the neck. My friend Kristine wants me to wear this tomorrow the the spin-in at Elizabeth S's. I think I may be able to finish the neck and block it tonight. I just might do that... Posted by Picasa

This is how far I got on the new vest today, I would have been farther had I not messed up because I was watching TV, and got completely captivated by a show, and then 2 inches later I realized I missed a color change and had to rip back 2 INCHES!!!!! I haven't had to rip anything back in about 200 years..., but that goes to show you, just when you think you know what you're doing, BAM! you get checked...None of us is perfect, no matter how long we've been at it. Posted by Picasa

So, when the other slipover was on the floor being blocked, I was plotting the next one! And here it is. I'm making a vest for myself! I know, you can't believe it! But it's true! I love these colors, and this is what I'm going to take the next week to do. Do you think I can get it done in a week? I have a special occasion coming up on the 5th of November. Guess I'd better get busy huh?

And then what do you think I woke up to today? 4 sick kids again!!!! 3 went to the doctors yesterday, and 2 have strep throat, and 1 has an "unknown" virus. So, the 4th got up this morning not feeling well again! And the one with the unknown virus and him share a room...surprise of surprises! I told them all that they had BETTER get well TODAY!!! :) in my nicest MOM way....(yeah right!) Posted by Picasa

Here is DH reluctantly modeling the fair isle slipover. Like it wasn't made for him! Seems to fit perfectly to me! What do you think? Doesn't he look cute? Posted by Picasa

Here is a little closer shot of the arm ribbing and neck ribbing.  Posted by Picasa

I finished the slipover! Yeah! Now I will tack down the facing inside and put the tag in and it's ready to wear. I will do a "try on" pic and post later when it's dry. Posted by Picasa

The knitting of the body is complete, I am getting ready to cut open the steeks at the neck and arms! Posting more pics this evening, I would like to have this ready to block by this evening! :) Posted by Picasa

And of course I had to spin some of it to see what it would look like, and I think its neat! Posted by Picasa

I went to Thomas Farms yesterday, and I got a TON of yarn and some fiber. This is roumbolliet? (sorry about the spelling) top natural brown and naturall white combined together. I had to buy it, it was so pretty! Posted by Picasa

And beholddddd!!!! I GOT IT! I found this VCR tape on Amazon.com and it was only $88.00!!!! The one I saw on EBay was $210.00! I couldn't believe the price! I popped it right in the VCR and got busy watching, and I'm telling you, for it only to be a 40 minute tape, there is a lot of information, especially about the history of the Shetland islands. And seeing what Alice Starmore really looks like was cool. The fair isle that she's wearing in the taping of this piece was to DIE for.... the speed in which those women knit was unbelievable. I want to go there just to sit and watch them knit. I was in stunned shock! And the kids, the stuff they were knitting was amazing. Already fair isle knitters at very young ages. I mean as in grade school young! On double pointed needles and all no less...

I finally was able to purchase an ott lamp. I am glad that I did. I couldn't believe the difference in my knitting when I can see! At first, I was freaked out! I felt like I was in a disco tech! I wanted to put in the BeeGee's and start groovin....ha, ha, ha Posted by Picasa
