Just another angle of the colors. Not to bad after all. :) Posted by Picasa

And finally, the finished hank of the day. And it's 9:20 P. I'm done spinning for today! I got quite a bit done today. I put this wool out in the sun on my deck to dry, considering it's like 90 degrees outside. It dried in about 1 1/2 or so. I think it came out nicely. And will post something later that I decide to make with it. :) Posted by Picasa

Here it is on the wheel. All colors that I like, and coming out smoothly. I am not plying this, but doing it in a single. Posted by Picasa

So my hubby picked me up some Rit dyes, 4 different colors. I woke up bright and early this morning and decided I was going to try the cold pour method that is outlined in the Twisted Sisters Sock Book. Well, here are the results. DID NOT come out good at all. The colors are still muted. But colors that I like nonetheless. Posted by Picasa

And the finished hank all plyed together. Brilliant! And Beautiful. I'm happy the way it turned out. I did use the method that I usually use with the oven and the hot pour, etc.  Posted by Picasa

And here it is on the wheel. I'm using my Ashford Joy to spin this. The wool is New Zealand Sliver in Natural white. I got 2 1/2 lbs. from Mrs. Heckaman's shop about 1 year ago, and this is about the last of it. I love the purples and pinks, and just a hint of blue in there too. Posted by Picasa

I did some dyeing yesterday and today. Here is the koolaid dye. I used grape, cherry, black cherry.  Posted by Picasa

The Chulo pattern is found in this book! If you don't have it, get it. It has wonderful pictures, and information regarding these different regions and their knitting and spinning skills. The costumes are fab, and so are the patterns. Fun! Especially if you like color knitting. Posted by Picasa

Another Chulo, only this one will actually fit someones head the correct way. The other one (see below) is huge! I'm going to have to felt it! Fortunately, it's handspun, so I'm hoping it will felt pretty good. My husband likes it though, so we'll see how it comes out.... :) Posted by Picasa

Another finished hat from handspun alpaca and merino. I think it came out nicely. Time to block, and it's ready to go to the festival... Posted by Picasa

Look at my girls! Aren't they gorgeous? They decided to pick some flowers and model them for us! :) Posted by Picasa

And this is what came in the mail today! From Outback Fibers in Texas! Rosella Plumes, and Tranquility. The Rosella Plumes has been spun already, of course! I couldn't wait! When I opened the package, it was smiling at me, and begging me to knit it up. So I obliged! Posted by Picasa

The newest acquisition ready to be spun... Posted by Picasa

And here is the finished yarn! Isn't it beautiful! As you can see, I've spun it in a singles. That's what it wanted to be. And of course, it's for sale. I'm not for sure how much I've spun, but I'll post that later. There will be lots of yarns that are going to be posted for sale. We have a folk festival coming up in July, gotta get ready! But of course, for sale is for sale, first come, first serve! :) Posted by Picasa

And of course I've been spinning. This is the remainder of the Fireweed from Paradise Fibers in Rhapsodies colors. I just love this! And this is a 100% merino wool. But the sheen is fabulous.  Posted by Picasa

From the same book a Chulo! hat! This is also made from my handspun yarn. The yarn is alpaca spun in a medium worsted weight. I love spinning this stuff! And these are great colors too! This hat took about 1/2 day to knit. Yes, I've been busy... Posted by Picasa

This is a sock from the Andean Knitting Book, I loved this anklet sock, and the lovely pattern. The yarn is my handspun. The dark color is Baby Spice, and the wonderful bright blue is an angora/wool/mohair blend spun in a single. I've cast on for the second one. This one only took about 4 hours to knit! I might just keep knitting these (ha, ha, ha, ha....) Posted by Picasa

This is some beautiful romboulliet? that I started to spin today. It's a wonderful brown and white. I love to make ragg yarns. Any colors, but this was very smooth spinning also. Until later posts!  Posted by Picasa

Does this look familiar? This is the stuff that is on the wheel in the pics below. I started a pair of socks from this handspun (Baby Spice) and size 1 and 2 needle. This is all that I have left of this ball that I used to knit these socks. This is also just a basic sock pattern, as you can see. But they fit like gloves! And warm. Especially since it's going to be about 30 degrees tonight! Yeah huh! Posted by Picasa

Comfy, cozy, handspun socks. Nothing like them in the world. :) Posted by Picasa

I finished my socks the other night and have been wearing them! It's cold! Hello! I don't know what is going on with the weather around here, but I'm ready for it to be warm already! And the rain can stop anytime too! Course, I probably shouldn't complain, considering last year, we had a drought! So by the end of the summer, we'll probably be wishing it would rain. :o( Posted by Picasa

What's on the wheel?
This is Baby Spice, and I love this color coming out of this. I think I'm just going to buy the rest of this from Charlotte Wolfe! I'm spinning it to come out a DK-Sport weight. Maybe for some socks or a nice light cardigan with some cables or something. I think it would make a lovely cabled sweater? Anyway, we'll see, just couldn't help but spin it! Later... :) Posted by Picasa

Here is a closeup of the columbia/corriedale that I just cast on a little bit ago. It looks silver don't you think? Well guess what? It's the same stuff that I had on the wheel a couple of pics below last month. His name is Baby Spice! After I finish spinning this I will post pics and you can compare his first cuts with his second year cuttings!  Posted by Picasa

And look at this cutie! He was a visitor for dinner tonight! His name is Ethan, and he's one of the sweetest babies you ever wanted to see! Look at those EYES! and that impish smile.... :) Posted by Picasa

Whew! a finished sock! I was a knitting fool on this baby! I've already cast on for the second one! I'm loving the feel of this yarn! And the striping pattern is cool huh? Posted by Picasa
