I finished the ribbing and increased the body and began the pattern this morning at about 10a. I like these colors, even though I'm only using 6 colors, it's coming out great, look below..... :) I think I'll be able to get this done in about a week and a half or so. Quite a goal huh? So, while I'm waiting for the yarn to come to finish the shawl, and while I'm trying like a mad woman to finish spinning the yarn for the other "natural" colored fair isle, I decided to start another one from the yarn I have in my stash. Blues and greens, with a touch of red! Humph, I'll show that darn shawl that I will not go out like a sucker!!!! (lololololol :)) Posted by Picasa

Right at the END! LOOK AT THE MINISCULE AMOUNT OF STITCHES LEFT!  Posted by Picasa

The Pacific Northwest Shawl is just about done. What! you say? It looks like it's done and ready to be blocked? Why yes, it would be but, alas.... I ran out of yarn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Picasa

Working on this! I have one half done, and am coming around the bend... Should be finished by tomorrow and ready to block! I think it's and interesting shawl with these colors. It will look better and more lace detail will show after the blocking. Then I can get on to my fair isle...... he, he, he, he :) Posted by Picasa

Here is the gang playing Texas Hold'em. That's my sissy, and her hubby and my hubby, (who happen to be brothers) all having a great time... and where was I? Posted by Picasa

And of course, she's putting it to good use... Posted by Picasa

Look at Izzy~ isn't she getting big? She just got her first new sippy cup today! And we were all cheering at what a big girl she is... Posted by Picasa

Here is a closeup of the edging of the shawl that I'm trying to finish up. It is a 16 stitch repeat border all the way across. I'll post pics of the progress. I would like to finish it up this evening. I'm ready to get started with the fair isle. Posted by Picasa

This is Baby, and he decided he's not going to be doing much today either. Look at the look on his face when I told him to smile for the camera... Posted by Picasa

Another snow day. We are under a winter storm advisory! For Thursday - Friday! Well, you know exactly where I'm going to be! Sitting in my chair, next to the fireplace and knitting. Above, this is what I'm finishing up. Posted by Picasa

I've also been spinning those natural colors for the fair isle. This is the line up. Look at the natural white! That wool is Targhie. It is very appropriate for baby garments. And it is soooo soft! Huh, I've just been in seventh heaven spinning this wool... What a project. :) Posted by Picasa

My daughter and I went to spend the day with a friend of mine who had her colon removed three months ago. She wasn't in the best of spirits, so we spent the day with her on Saturday just knitting and spinning and crocheting. She made this blankie for me! Isn't it pretty! I had crocheted these squares probably 2 years ago, and I of course put it away. I then gave a whole bin of yarn to her, and she dug these squares out, and decided to finish the blanket and gave it to me. I thought that was sweet! I love these colors.... Posted by Picasa

I decided to finish up this shawl that I started 2 months ago. I only have about 10 rows to go. So I pulled it out. Actually, (if you really want to know) I needed the bag that I had this in! Do any of you have a million knitting bags, and they all have old projects in them? Well, that's me. So I looked in one of my favorite bags, and low and behold, here was the shawl that I hadn't finished. So I pulled it out and decided to finish it. Hopefully in about 3 days at most. The border takes the longest! This is KnitPicks merino lace weight yarn, isn't it pretty? And only $3.80/hank. Posted by Picasa

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL!!!!
Can you believe this is what I woke up to this morning!!!! And it's sticking, I can't believe this is the first snow, and on Monday it was 63 outside, and it's now 17 and snowing (lake effect at that!) But, it just makes me want to spin today :) Posted by Picasa

I spun like a spinnin fool yesterday! I now have three of the wonderful natural colors spun up for display purposes! It's like I start spinning and I can't stop until I've spun what I'm going to use for the next garment! I guess that's a good thing, but I haven't been knittin at all...... ;( Posted by Picasa

close up of the wonderful color Posted by Picasa

Look how thin! And it's two ply! But of course it needs to be fingering weight for a fair isle.  Posted by Picasa

And this is what I've been spinning today! Some of the fiber I got yesterday at Charlotte's. The lighter tan is a rumboulliet/merino mix, and the dark one is called Spice, which is corriedale I think. Whatever it is, I had a blast spinning it so thin. I'm going to spin this up to make an all natural colored fair isle! What do you think? :) Posted by Picasa

I finally finished spinning the yarn for the next cardigan (actually the twin the the dark brown one) so that I can write the pattern. I know you all have requested it, and so this is the only logical thing to do, is to knit it over again, and write down each step. I'm really bad at that.... but I will be starting this one soon enough. Going to set the twist tonight! This is an alpaca/shetland blend. It's absolutely heavenly.  Posted by Picasa

I went to Charlotte Wolfe's this morning because she left me a message yesterday that she had wool! WELL, did she have wool! Look at this bag full! I got all of this for 55 bucks! And she has more. It's from Lisa Truman who is our local shearer. She doesn't have time to sell it herself, so Charlotte thought she would help her out. She has tons, and I mean tons of fiber.
There is Merino, Romney, corriedale, targie, rumboulliet/merino mix, rumboulliet, shetland, dorset, california red. There is every color of the natural wool rainbow. If you would like to purchase some of this wonderful fiber, please contact Charlotte Wolfe at 574-291-9943. The prices range from .50/ounce - $1.25/ounce. You can't beat that with a stick! Posted by Picasa

As you can see, I've been knitting on the newest vest. I think it's very pretty, though hard to see the cables. Sorry, I think I should probably learn how to use my camera better. I've been fiddlin around with it, but hey, you get the idea... Posted by Picasa

And of course, I started another project. I couldn't help it. I think because I'm on the slow part of the sleeve of the other sweater, I am bored. I hate plain knitting. This I started this afternoon when I decided I was going to go stark raving mad if I saw anymore white! I'm putting cables in this, and it's just going to be another slipover. I like making them, I like wearing them also. They make one look a bit thinner I think.... happy knitting & spinnin... Posted by Picasa
